The Northampton Indians Football and Cheerleading program is run by an all volunteer staff. The program requires many volunteers to function properly and give our children a good chance for success.
We have many open volunteer positions open, some require more commitment than others. Anything you can do to help will be greatly appreciated. There is a list of volunteer positions below, or you can also see the staff at the shack or talk to your coach. If you would like to participate on one of the positions and, please contact us. We are also going through the registration forms where people have offered to help.
Here is a list and brief description of some of the volunteer positions in the organization:
- Coaches / Assistant Coaches - Most of the head coach positions are decided early in the year, but as the kids get older and move up in the brackets some teams become available. There is almost always a need for assistant coaches.
- Team Parents - Team parents do a lot of very important tasks both on and off the field: administrative work like rosters/schedules, team communications, water, chains, play counts. Being a team parent is a great way to get involved.
- Snack Shack - The snack shack is a major source of funding for the organization and we need people to staff it.
- Field Maintenance - The fields require a lot of maintenance and we are trying to get a lot of people to help. The fields need to be striped each week, fencing installed/mended, equipment room, trash duty, etc.
- Bowl Day - Volunteers are needed to help plan, organize and set up our opening day ceremonies/festivities. This includes: contacting vendors, arranging activities, setting up for the event and staffing the event.
- Hayride - The hayride is a lot of fun and we need volunteers to help plan the hayride.
- Monte Carlo Night - Volunteers are needed to help plan, organize and set up our big end of year fundraising event. Co-ordinating promotion, catering, games, DJ, gift baskets, etc.
- Photographers - Are you a shutterbug? We could use help taking photos of games, teams and players. If you have some pictures you would like to share with everyone or post on the website, let us know! This could be a great way for high school students to get some community service credit.
Contact us if you would like to help out!
