Football Update PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 18 July 2009

Here is a little update for the parents:

Late Registration: Registration is still open for the following teams: Flag, Jr Mitey Mites (80lb) and Jr Midgets (130lbs). For all other teams registration is closed. If you would like to register, bring all of the forms from our registration page to our office at 892 Second Street Pike in Richboro during normal business hours. The office is Degrouchy, Sifer and Associates located next to the Aqua Pools store. A $25 late fee will apply.

Equipment Pickup (Tackle): We will hand out equipment later this month. A coach/Team Parent will contact you with the the date and time and the information will be posted here as well. There are some things you will need to bring to pick up the equipment and there are no exceptions so please please please do yourself a favor and make sure you bring all of it.

Here is what you need to bring (no exceptions):

  • The player (they need to have their helmet and shoulder pads fit).
  • A deposit check for $150 made out to the name of N.I.F.A dated for November 31, 2009. This will be returned to you when the equipment is returned.
ALSO If you have not already turned them in:
  • The 2 page physical form signed by a doctor in 2009. There are 2 pages to this form, we need both.
  • A copy of the players final report card for the year. If you you do not have it, contact the school and get another copy. Bring a copy because we need to keep it.

There are no exceptions. All of this paperwork needs to be turned in before the players are allowed to pick up their equipment. This is a league rule.

Football Practice: The schedule for football practice really depends upon each coach, but here is some general info. Tackle practice usually starts the first week of August. The practices are usually held on weeknights between 6PM and 8:30-9. The younger teams usually practice 3-4 nights per week and the older teams practice 4-5. When school starts the number of practices goes down to like 2 nights.

Flag football practice usually starts up in mid-September.

All of the practices and home games are at the Northampton Rec Center.

Pre-Season Football Clinic - Sponsored By
Northampton Indians Football and Cheerleading Association

There will be a non contact youth football drills clinic for all interested players for 3 Sundays beginning June 14th, June 21st and June 28 also July 26 and August 2nd from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Maier Tract complex located at the Civic Center on Newtown-Richboro Road. The clinic will be run by coaches from the Northampton program as well as former players and various local high school coaches. We will have over eight (8) stations that will cover everything from footwork drills to tackling technique drills as well as ball handling, pass receiving and blocking drills.

This clinic is open to all youth players, even if you have not registered with the Northampton Indians, as long as your parents offer proof of insurance and sign the injury waiver form.

This will be a great way to help yourself prepare for the upcoming season in a non stressful environment. The purpose is to learn, have fund and get a leg up on the competition. Players may come to any and all sessions, take part in any or all of the drills, we only ask that you pay attention and be respectful of the instructors. All players that attend will get the maximum benefit out of these drills.

The clinic is being run by volunteers at no cost to your parents. The price here is a little time (1 1/2 hours on Sunday nights), sweat (you will work hard) and effort (that's all on you), otherwise it is FREE!

So mark your calendars, and be prepared to catch the wave of success!!!!!!!

Participants need to bring: shorts, t-shirt, cleats and a good attitude.

Please fill out this sign up form.
